5 Simple Physiotherapy Exercises for a Successful Normal Delivery

Physiotherapy plays an important role in preparing women’s bodies for the rigors of childbirth, especially during the latter stages of pregnancy. The pelvic tilt is one of the most important physiotherapy exercises you can do during pregnancy. It helps to keep your pelvis in a healthy alignment, which can prevent pain and injury. Plus, it can also help to improve your chances of having a normal delivery. Here's how to do it:

1. Lie on your back with your knees bent and feet flat on the floor.

2. Place your hands on your hips and tighten your stomach muscles.

3. Use your stomach muscles to tilt your pelvis upwards, then hold for 10 seconds.

4. Relax your muscles and return to the starting position.

5. Repeat 10 times.

2) Kegel Exercises

Kegel exercises

Kegel exercises are one of the most important things you can do for your health during pregnancy. They help strengthen your pelvic floor muscles, which can lead to successful normal delivery.

To do a Kegel, simply tighten your pelvic floor muscles as if you're trying to stop the flow of urine. Hold for 10 seconds, then release. Repeat6- 10 times, three times per day.

3) Abdominal Breathing

Abdominal breathing is one of the most important physiotherapy exercises for normal delivery.

Aims

1.It helps to improve the health of your baby and can also help to prevent complications during delivery.

2. The aim of this exercise is to take slow, deep breaths in through your nose, allowing your stomach to rise as you inhale. As you exhale, allow your stomach to fall back down. Repeat this process 8-10 times, slowly increasing the number of repetitions as you become more comfortable with the exercise.

5. These five simple exercises can be done at home with no equipment needed:

5) Perineal Massage

Perineal massage is an important part of preparing for a normal delivery. It helps to increase the elasticity of the perineum, which is the area between the vaginal opening and the anus. This can help to prevent tearing during childbirth.

To do perineal massage, you will need:
